In most of the coffee-growing world, the varieties of coffee being grown come from the same relatively narrow genetic pool. Ethiopia, coffee's native homeland, has a wildly different world of coffee varieties that date back ore than a millennium. Ethiopian coffees at their best are explosively fragrant and boast distinctive floral and fruit tones.
Deri Kochoha jumped out to us distinctively amongst the two dozen African lots we cupped this summer. Its flavor profile is unmistakable for a washed Ethiopian coffee, and was an incredible value on the table. We're glad to have secured it early on in the Ethiopian shipping cycle & have it with us for many months to come!
